About Me

I have been assessing students and adults for dyslexia since 2019 and have recently renewed my practicing certificate. I was a primary classroom teacher for over 30 years working with all year groups from Nursery to Y8. I worked as a primary school Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCo) from 2011 to 2019 and am currently the Chairperson of the local Northamptonshire Patoss Group.

As part of my SENDCo role I was keen to establish a system within our school to support those children who were finding it difficult to get started with reading and writing. My aim was to support progress, thus preventing the loss of self-esteem that so many dyslexics feel. My journey involved completing my MA and continuing through university to complete my assessor's qualification for dyslexia. I renewed my practicing certificate in February 2023.

These qualifications support my long-held passion to support children, young adults and their parents to help them to achieve their dreams with a greater understanding of the learning style that best suits them.

I now support dyslexic university students with study skills as they progress through higher education to achieve their desired degree.

When asked to write a full diagnostic report I aim to show a candidate's potential and current attainment by understanding the difficulties experienced, whilst giving advice and support strategies to build confidence and help support progress.
